Let’s party.

✦

celebrating and capturing your day with a relaxed candid approach.

How would I shoot your wedding?

  • Your wedding is a unique unravelling and my aim is to capture your wedding however it unfolds. No setting up photos. No awkward posing. Candid simply means taken ‘informally’ or ‘unposed’ so if that sounds what you’re looking for than say hello.

  • I aim to amplify the good vibes. No bossy photographer killing the vibe. My flexible and relaxed approach means you can focus on enjoying the day. I love to pepeare well so we can be spontaneous on the day. Even if things go wrong or the Melbourne weather turns I’ll be there to capture the day and help you relax

  • I love having fun whilst capturing your photos. Just because marriage is a serious commitment doesn't mean it has to be boring day. Marrying your best friend should be a day filled with laughter and joy. You may even find me on the dance floor joining the antics.

3 tips to help you choose your wedding photographer

  1. Skills + vibes = your wedding photographer

Yes. Your photographer should have sweet skills. They should be a creative genius behind the lens. Using their knowledge and technical expertise to capture every aspect of your day. But having rad photography skills isn't enough. They need to bring good vibes.

You and your guests should all feel comfortable at your wedding. Your photographer should be able to join in with the wedding party banter and help everyone have fun. Simply put, it's an intimate day. Choose a wedding photographer that matches your vibe. You can suss them out over a beer or via a video call.

2. Stalk their profile and featured weddings

Photography, as a creative expression, takes on many different forms. Throughout your search, you'll see marketing with words such as 'story-telling', 'natural', 'laid-back', 'documentary'. Forget the terms for a minute. Make sure you like what you see. Ask your photographer about their approach, and read their reviews. If you don't want to be posed all day, choose someone more relaxed and candid. It's simple.

3. Trust the professionals

Hiring a pro means hiring someone who thinks about 'what if everything went wrong'. What happens in an emergency? What happens if their camera breaks? Or their memory cards fail? The truth is the list could go on. A professional photographer's job isn't just taking good photos. They are business owners. It's their job to cut out the risk and assure you everything will be fine. They have insurance. They create backups of all your files. They have people to call in case of an emergency. As enticing as your offer from your uncle and his brand-new camera is, leave it to the pros this time.

"We didn’t want staged and artificial photos from a fancy wedding photographer. We wanted something a lot more real and we found that in Lachlan’s work. On the day he made us feel very comfortable. He was flexible with doing whatever and fun to be around. We loved his relaxed vibe and his overall outlook on life.”

Lachlan captured the craziness and the excitement of our day - he captured how we were feeling. We were able to relive the whole day through our photos. There was a good balance of him being in the background unnoticed but also being part of the party. He made the whole process easy
