November 2021 was supposed to be the day. Then it wasn't. Lockdowns, border closures, a photographer who couldn't make it interstate. Veronica and Morgan found me in the chaos of postponement season, and by January 2022, they were finally doing the thing. They kept it simple: one location, good food, craft beer, their favourite people. Dromana Estate on a hot and stormy summer's day. When I asked what photo would make them smile in ten years, they said "our joy on the day, interacting with all the people we love in that time and space." So that's what I chased. Wide angles to capture the drama of the weather. High contrast. A mix of colour and black and white. All of it leaning into the energy of a day that almost didn't happen, finally happening.
